Observers see a progressive sequence as the Moon gradually obscures the solar disk, and, after the dark \u2018moment of totality\u2019, the Sun reappears as the Moon moves away.<\/p>\n<p>A partial solar eclipse occurs when only part of the Sun is covered, while an annular eclipse, sometimes called a \u2018ring of fire,\u2019 happens when the Moon is slightly farther from Earth and appears smaller, leaving a bright ring of sunlight around its silhouette.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Experts stress the importance of safety: never look directly at the Sun during any eclipse without certified filters or eclipse glasses, as ordinary sunglasses do not provide adequate protection.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When will Spain\u2019s solar eclipses be visible?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Iberian Trio will unfold during the summers of 2026, 2027, and 2028. The first, on August 12, 2026, is a total solar eclipse \u2013 the first visible from the Iberian Peninsula in more than a century.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where is best to view Spain\u2019s solar eclipses?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2026\/03\/spain-solar-eclipse-summer-2560x1188.jpg\" alt=\"spain solar eclipse\" class=\"wp-image-258455\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a9Unsplash<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Occurring at sunset, the path of totality will sweep from northwest Spain eastward, starting in Galicia, where A Coru\u00f1a will witness the eclipse at 7:31\u202fpm, and continuing across northern Spain to the Balearic Islands at 7:38\u202fpm. Thirteen autonomous communities lie along the path, including Oviedo, Santander, Le\u00f3n, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Valencia, and Palma.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In these regions, the sky will briefly darken to twilight, and the Sun\u2019s corona will become visible, while observers outside the path of totality will see a deep partial eclipse.
