And the same degree of attention, it seems, is increasingly being lavished on the drinks, with the news that Prada has become the first fashion house to appoint its own mixologist.<\/p>\n<p>That mixologist is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/remy_savage_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Remy Savage<\/a>,\u00a0an\u00a0<em>enfant terrible\u00a0<\/em>of the cocktail scene, best-known\u00a0for\u00a0creating the\u00a0Bauhaus-inspired\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/a_bar_with_shapes_for_a_name_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A\u00a0Bar\u00a0with\u00a0Shapes for a Name<\/a>\u00a0in East <a href=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/travel\/destination-guides\/europe\/london-destination-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">London<\/a>.\u00a0He\u2019s also behind\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/bar_nouveau_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bar Nouveau<\/a>\u00a0in <a href=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/travel\/destination-guides\/europe\/paris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paris<\/a>, a\u00a0trendy\u00a0cocktail\u00a0cubby hole in the\u00a0Marais, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/abstract_house_of_monochromes_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bar Abstract<\/a>\u00a0in Lyon, a\u00a0Dennis Hopper-esque bistro with a micro-distillery. All of\u00a0these bars are tiny\u00a0\u2013\u202fbut\u00a0they wield global\u00a0influence, thanks to their unique mix of creativity, playfulness and sharp design.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2026\/05\/prada-mixologist-cocktail-remy-1696x2560.jpg\" alt=\"prada mixologist cocktail remy\" class=\"wp-image-262008\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Remy Savage \u00a9Prada<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I\u2019ve long been an admirer of\u00a0Savage. He\u00a0is a brilliant\u00a0flavorsmith, with\u00a0a commitment to doing things his own way\u00a0that\u00a0could almost be described as\u00a0punk.\u00a0His bar teams operate almost like collectives; their colorful uniforms are designed by Savage himself; and they often collaborate with local designers and artists. His drinks can be cerebral, but they never lose their sense of fun \u2013\u202fyou might have a\u00a0trio of\u00a0tiny\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/finest-dining\/how-to-make-dirty-martini-properly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Martinis<\/a>\u00a0that contrast\u00a0different types of <a href=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/finest-dining\/wines-and-spirits\/sparkling-tea-non-alcoholic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tea<\/a>, a Margarita spiked with eucalyptus\u00a0or a crystal-clear\u00a0cocktail\u00a0served over\u00a0a\u00a0hand-made\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/finest-dining\/wines-and-spirits\/ice-unsung-hero-cocktails\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ice<\/a> block with an iridescent cube trapped inside<em>.\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Savage doesn\u2019t consider himself \u201ca particularly fashionable person\u201d. (Though I\u2019d say he has a very strong sense of style \u2013\u202fhe makes a lot of his own clothes and on the day we speak he\u2019s wearing a\u00a0fragrance\u00a0he based on the French aperitif <em>fine \u00e0 leau<\/em>; &#171;grapes, a litle bit of leather; a little patchouli, fig leaf \u2013 very cognac, with\u00a0the wetness of the cellar.\u201d).\u00a0So\u00a0the Prada approach came as a surprise. But when\u00a0he discovered Miuccia Prada was a fellow philosophy student, he was\u00a0intrigued.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI realised a\u00a0lot of her ideas were quite radical and quite intellectual \u2013\u202fand there\u2019s a real passion for functionalism,\u00a0which I can relate to, too. I\u00a0thought:\u00a0this is someone super clever doing clothes and this is kind of awesome.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2026\/05\/prada-mixologist-cocktail.jpg\" alt=\"prada mixologist cocktail\" class=\"wp-image-262006\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a9Prada<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Savage\u2019s job is to devise\u00a0drinks lists and cocktail recipes for\u00a0Prada\u00a0events and stores across the world\u00a0\u2013\u202fa stable of brands which also\u00a0includes Miu Miu and Versace.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His\u00a0first commission was to create the drinks list for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.prada.com\/gb\/en\/pradasphere\/special-projects\/2025\/mi-shang-prada-rong-zhai.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mi Shang Prada Rong Zhai<\/a>\u00a0(aka \u2018Mi Shang\u2019), Prada\u2019s\u00a0fine dining restaurant\u00a0in\u00a0Shanghai. Housed in a restored 1918 mansion, the restaurant was a collaboration with the\u00a0movie director\u00a0Wong Kar Wai, and\u00a0sets out to be a fusion of Chinese culture and <a href=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/shopping-lifestyle\/mens-style\/milan-fashion-the-sartoralist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Milanese style<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Savage\u2019s new list\u00a0includes\u00a0a Negroni infused with magnolia, which is the signature of flower of Shanghai\u00a0(\u201cIt gives the drink a gingery, slightly citrussy note\u201d); and a Milano Torino made with Campari and\u00a0<em>rosso\u00a0<\/em>vermouth aged in clay, a nod to traditional Chinese preserving techniques. There\u2019s a twist on an Italian\u00a0Sgroppino, made with\u00a0citrus sorbet, prosecco and Longshan yellow wine, and a Martini of Chinese vodka, peony and apricot eau de vie.\u00a0There\u2019s lots of tea, too: the\u00a0non-alcoholic Meeting Room\u00a0blends\u00a0tangerine\u00a0pu-er tea, pink peppercorn and lemon salt. And for fans of Chinese spirits, there\u2019s also a\u00a0baiju\u00a0tasting flight.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elitetraveler.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2026\/05\/prada-mixologist-cocktail-mishang-1920x2560.jpg\" alt=\"prada mixologist cocktail mi shang\" class=\"wp-image-262007\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Mi Shang Prada Rong Zhai, Prada&#8217;s fine dining restaurant in Shanghai \u00a9Prada<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Presentation is exquisite. One drink comes garnished with a little nest of edible flowers.\u00a0The\u00a0wafer-thin glassware is beautiful but also deliberately\u00a0mis-matched, \u201cas it might be\u00a0if you were serving people cocktails in your home,\u201d says Savage. \u201cThat\u2019s what makes it feel special\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like it when drinks are at the service of an idea.\u00a0And the vision at Prada is so strong. The attention to detail is so striking,\u201d\u00a0he says, producing a Prada-branded fork from the restaurant,\u00a0from his pocket,\u00a0to illustrate the point.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The second half of 2026\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0packed\u00a0one for Prada \u2013 as well as\u00a0the usual round of shows, its Foundation in Milan is launching the next chapter of its neuroscience project Human Brains.
