Available only to Elite Traveler readers.

Which in part explains the crowds each summer. And while there are plenty of hotel options for discerning travelers, locations that offer an elevated and more secluded experience are highly sought after – and increasingly challenging to find.
Enter Torre di Civita, a mountain-side retreat and former monastery 980 ft above sea level, perched on the hills close to Atrani where the Netflix show Ripley was created. Originally built between the 10th and 11th centuries as a defence tower against Saracen raids, it was repurposed as a place of devotion in the 14th century. Its history also includes a spell as the playground of a Neapolitan prince, but around 70 years ago the property was purchased and restored and has remained a privately held family treasure ever since.

From its lofty vantage point, Torre di Civita has uninterrupted views of the Gulf of Salerno as well as of its own five-acre grounds, featuring citrus orchards, centuries-old olive groves and the vegetable gardens used daily by the property’s private chefs.
With seven bedrooms – three in the monastery and four in the surrounding buildings – a library, games room, butler services, chef-curated meals as well as outdoor pizza oven, and even a private lifeguard, it would make an exceptional venue for a family gathering, days-long bacchanal or just as a place of quiet contemplation and recovery. Or all three.
The entire estate is exclusively available for rental to Elite Traveler readers via Golden Ticket, Hollywood fixers known for finding unique private and off-market homes for actors, directors and producers to utilize while filming on location, or while on vacations.
