Goodwood’s director of memberships shares the insider details about the brand’s latest launch.
Automotive enthusiasts will have heard the recent news that Goodwood Road Racing Club is expanding into the States. Starting in California, the Goodwood Road Racing Club of America will launch in Summer 2027, with founding membership opening in early 2027.
Its aim – much like its US counterpart – is simple: to bring people together through a shared love of cars. Alan Brewer, Goodwood’s director of memberships, gives Elite Traveler the inside scoop.

What is the Goodwood Road Racing Club of America?
The GRRC of America is a component of the Goodwood Road Racing Club, offering automotive experiences, access, and a shared sense of community for its members. Activities will be centered in California and Nevada to start, with plans to expand across the States.
“The United States is our first international expansion of the GRRC, and we see it as an opportunity to bring the Goodwood experience closer to a community that already has a strong affinity for the brand,” Brewer says. “Every year we welcome thousands of American visitors to our events [in the UK], and American drivers, riders, cars, bikes, teams, owners, partners, and sponsors have become an integral part of Members’ Meeting, Festival of Speed, and Goodwood Revival.”
He believes that the launch of the GRRC of America is a “natural next step and allows us to bring the Goodwood spirit directly to a market with an extraordinary automotive culture and a strong appetite for meaningful, community-led experiences.”
Goodwood has always celebrated “all types of automotive culture, not just a single marque, era or discipline,” Brewer says, while acknowledging that American car culture is “incredibly diverse, from hot rods and muscle cars to off-road competition, drag racing, NASCAR, IndyCar. It has a vibrant community of enthusiasts.”
One thing that excites him most about this venture is the reciprocal opportunity for ideas and inspiration: “We are bringing Goodwood to America, but we are equally keen to learn from the passion, accessibility, and scale that characterize American automotive culture,” he reveals.

How much is membership?
Membership pricing has not yet been released, but you can join the waitlist for free now. According to Brewer, a “significant amount of interest has come from people who already have a connection with Goodwood, whether through GRRC membership, attending our events regularly or traveling from the US to Festival of Speed and Revival.”
Those not so familiar with the brand have also expressed membership interest: “We’ve seen a huge amount of enthusiasm from a much broader audience of American enthusiasts who may know the Goodwood name but have never had the opportunity to experience it first-hand.”
What will the GRRC of America program include?
Speculation as to whether the Goodwood Road Racing Club of America will be like the UK version has been circulating. But Brewer is keen to ensure that while the Goodwood ethos remains consistent, “the GRRC of America is not intended to be a replica of the UK club. It is being designed specifically for American enthusiasts, with a strong emphasis on participation, driving, and year-round engagement.”
A full calendar of events can be expected, involving “track days, driving tours, private visits, and curated gatherings, alongside a headline event at Willow Springs,” he says. “That gives us the opportunity to create experiences that would not necessarily exist in the UK, reflecting the geography, roads, venues, and unique car culture that make up the American automotive tradition.” An annual flagship Goodwood-style celebration of motorsport and American automotive culture is also on the cards.

What else will members get?
Reciprocal arrangements will be in place between the two membership communities (UK and US), and Brewer believes that “a key part of the concept is creating a genuine connection between America and Goodwood. We want members to feel connected to everything that makes Goodwood special, whether that is an experience in California or a memorable moment in West Sussex.”
Will the Festival of Speed ever take place in America?
That’s not currently in the grand plans, according to Brewer: “The current focus is on establishing the GRRC of America and creating a distinctly American program of experiences and events.” Plans currently in the works include a flagship event in California at Willow Springs in 2028.
Beyond that, he says the team “remain ambitious and open-minded. If there is one thing Goodwood’s history demonstrates, it is our willingness to evolve and pursue exciting opportunities when the time is right.”
